Oprah & Denzel ... in person!

Ok I know this is two posts in one day but I wanted to quickly get a few pictures posted before it was a week after I saw them.
As usual I like to share what I do on Saturday Mornings.... This is what I did last Saturday.

Picture Pages with Bill Cosby

Last night I was having a conversation with a friend who is near my age. I don't remember what we were talking about but he said something about "Pictures Pages" and I about freaked! I LOVED Picture Pages when I was a child.... I sooooo wanted the "pencil" he used. I know I had not heard the actual tune other than myself singing it since I was a child. Yes, I remember the words and last night I heard it ...... after about 30 years, it felt like the first time must have felt. I wanted to cry! It makes me so happy....Who would have ever known where this man would end up... Jell-O anyone?

What NOT to wear.

Today I took my friend Jenny shopping. She is currently without a vehicle and needed to do some retail therapy! Just kidding.... she really just had to do basic shopping stuff. Well.....we have a new TJ Maxx in town that opened last weekend so we decided we "needed" to go in. Now I know why!
Disclaimer: Had there been a need to actually block out her eyes I would have used the little black box that Glamour Magazine uses in the "Don't" section in the back of the magazine.....as you can see, there was no need.

Please note that I am referring to the lovely GOLD outfit in the above pictures as denim is a classic and you CAN'T go wrong with it. I really did feel bad for getting such a kick out of someone looking soooooooo bad and seeing as how I work in the Apparel Industry I felt a certain obligation to her as a human to tell her how ridiculous she looked..... I just couldn't do it!

Did you notice?
  • Head to toe GOLD?
  • Cinching on the side of the *shiny* gold pants?
  • Vibrant Purple, High Healed, Gold Trimmed, "Get off MY corner" Boots?
  • Matching GOLD hair?

What you can't see....

  • She is purchasing a GOLD belt to add to the ensemble! (Which she puts on at the register and promptly struts out of the store.)
  • She also purchase a GOLD wallet....needless to say, as a matching accessory to EVERYTHING!!!!
I think this "get up" would have been more understandable had she not been a pasty white, 40'something year old with Golden locks.
I only wish I could have given her some guidance.
I'm so sad inside.

Super Saturday!

Today was our wards Super Saturday. We actually were combined with B'ville 2nd. I only signed up for the jewelry making class where you just brought what you had and they taught you techniques. I purchased beads while in China.... here they are.

These are shells. They are actually an oval shell inside a circle shell. Ironically they are for Shelley.

This is a bracelet for Kathy... the big round black beads are from China... the others were purchased locally.

The matching necklace.

A close-up of the necklace.

The End!

China Trip Pictures

Just wanted to share some of my China Pictures ....

Wanna go to the Airport or Disney Land?

Immigration through the "special car" lane which was sooooooo very long... we decided to walk through and that way the driver could go through the short line!

Sorry for the blurry-ness. This is Hong Kong from the harbor at night.

Along the HK Harbor during the day.

Need to Potty? Just how bad do you really need to go? Yes girls, this is YOUR potty! (at the office) I am sooooo grateful that I was born in the US in the this day and time where we sit on a nice little stool to take care of business. This is, by the way, a very nice place to "squat".... I have been into many factories where it is nothing more than a hole in the ground... gross! I know, how dare I post a picture of the Bathroom!
I just want all of you to know what you are missing on the other side of the world.
P.S. There are "normal stools" in the other stalls :)

Tagged by Meg - 7 (new) random things:

Tag.... we all played it as a child and it has shown it's sweet little face in adulthood via the "Blog". I got tagged and didn't even know it for quite a while. How does this "tag" thing work anyway? I used to be that someone physically touched you and hollered "TAG, YOUR IT!" now... tag is lost out there in the World Wide Web. So.... From what I understand I should tell you 7 Random Things about ME! (evidently they must be new so if you are tagged again you can't just say the same thing). Once I complete my "TAG Assignment" then it's my turn to be the Tagger and virtually tag YOU! Here we go.

7 (new) random things about ME:
...in the ever so lovely David Letterman Count Down manner.

#7: I don't like being touched by strangers. This came to mind because as I was doing some shopping while in China last week I was bombarded with strangers reaching out and touching my arm and getting all too close saying "Missy, Missy... you want handbag, DVD, Watch? You come to warehouse with me. I give you good price."

#6: I am a "Craftoholic". Is there a 12 step program for Crafters? Name a craft. I dare you. I have EVERYTHING you could possibly need to complete that project. I spin wool into yarn (yes, I own a spinning wheel), crochet, hand embroider, scrapbook, make jewelry, sew, work with polymer clay, make stencils, do quilling, draw, paint and am quite good with a glue gun and even own my own Power Tools!

I am also addicted to http://www.craftster.org/

#5. I love NYC. Some day I will live there.

#4. I collect Cookie Cutters. Again... I dare you to name the most obscure object you can think of and I probably have a cookie cutter in that shape. Statue of Liberty, Scissors, Texas Longhorn, Pistol Pete, a Hammer, the SLC Temple, a Beehive, a CTR Shield... along with all the traditional hearts, butterflies and flowers. On top of my amazing cookie cutter collection I have the YUMMIEST (is that a word) Recipe ever! ...sorry I can not share it. :)

#3. I am not a good Blogger. Not even a "fair" blogger but I'm sure if your one of the 5 people that read my blog you know this.

#2. I get to add pages to my Passport!!! This is almost as good as getting a passport for the first time or even your first stamp....This makes me smile!!!!
#1. I don't make my bed every day and my room is currently a mess! OK so I have a little bit of a reason for my room to be a mess. I'm still unpacking from my China Trip.
It is now a quarter till one am, I have to work tomorrow morning and I took a nap when I got home from work today. Hopefully I can sleep. Good night.
TAGing: Katherine, John & Jaimee, Jill, Kasey, Shellie C. (you already admitted you read my blog) AND Mom, Anne, Kelly, Jo, Sarah, Aaron (you all need to start a blog).

A rose a rose a rose... in my garden grew

Ok so I didn't grow them but the local florist did deliver them!

Are they not the most beautiful ROSES you have ever seen????

I know you all want a story.... his name is Christopher.

Not sure I'm ready to say anything more....
