Needle Felting... my first attempt

I think I am going to like Needle Felting.
I would call this "Free Form" needle felting.
I'm making it up as I go and hope it will end up as a wall hanging or something of the sort.

Someone gave me a heart attack!

Last night I ran out to fill my car up with gas and I came home to this.

One of the hearts says "give me a call"
LOL
sooo darn cute!
I have a sneaking suspicion who did it...
well at least know of 12 possible little girls!

There were also flowers!
Sorry no picture.

Happy Valentines Day

I spent Valentines Day with the Alpaca!
Don't they have the sweetest faces?
I'm not an animal person...
I went to the TxOLAN Alpaca Show in Ft. Worth today for the FIBER.
(TxOLAN= Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas and New Mexico)

I did purchase a few fiber goodies.... two balls of Alpaca Roving and one Wool "Top Knot" from New Zealand
(the colored ball is the wool... isn't it beautiful!).

So prior to my Alpaca adventures... as I was hunting for the said Alpaca Show there were other events going on at the same location... only in different buildings.
There was a gun show...... which could have been fun with the right person (hint, hint!)
and a Flea Market.
I couldn't resist walking through the Flea Market.
I'm sooooo glad I did.
The prices were FABULOUS!

Here are my amazing finds!
#1. Super Funky, Ugly/Cute Metal File Box - $5.00
I'm in LOVE! I'm going to file my bills and receipts in this beauty! It makes me happy.

#2. 8"x5" Enamel Ware container (US Certified Stainless Ware) - $1.00Perfect for organizing in my craft room... gotta get it cleaned up again!

#3. Baby Crock w/Blue Stripe - $4.00
As you can see I have a LARGE Crock that holds my kitchen utensils...
I also have several small kitchen utensils that get lost in the bottom of the LARGE Crock so this baby crock is the perfect solution!

#4. Fenton Milk Glass Sugar Bowl (Hobnail Pattern) - $4.00

This is a group shot of my new piece with it's siblings. I really need to figure out how to display my milk glass where it looks good. Any ideas?
#5. Sterling Silver Heart Ring (Black, Red & Turquoise Stones) - $10.00
I tried to get the lady to take $8.00 for the ring but she would have no part of that... I left it there and walked away. Decided as I walked the rest of the Flea Market that I really liked it and if it was there when I was done I would get it. As you have probably figured out... It was there when I went back and it is now mine. Kinda unique with the stones stacked on top of the heart... it really struck me.

Grand total spent at Flea Market: $24.00
I must say I did pretty darn good!
The Fenton Milk Glass is worth much more alone!

It is now time for bed.
I hope everyone had a Fabulous Valentines Day and got to spend it with the one you love
OR
doing what you LOVE!

Sleep well and Sweet Dreams!

1977'ish

I'm totally guessing but I think this is about 1977 and Kindergarten at Puckett Elementary.
Cute Shirt isn't it? Wait... IS that a shirt? I hope so!

Thanks KD for scanning the HUGE photo albums and giving me a sneak peak.

http://www.artomat.org/

Have you ever heard of Artomat?
Check it out.....
Today I drove to Southlake to go to a store and remembered that Art251 was out in Keller not far from where I was going. Art251 opened towards the end of 2008 and they have an Artomat Machine!!!!!

I couldn't help myself.
I purchased 4 pieces of art...2 of them being from the same artist.
His work might just become something I collect.
They say three of anything is a collection and I am well on my way to 3!

* All of these items are tiny and vend out of re-purposed cigarette vending machines!
They have to fit in a box (or be the size) :

3 1/4" x 2 1/8"x 7/8"
(LxWxH)

* the bearded bunnies are paintings mounted on wood blocks
* the black and white photo is mounted on a 1/4" thick piece of MDF
* the "Beachscape" is of course fiber art, 4 1/2" x 2 1/2"

I LOVE them ALL!!!
